Development update: the war goes persistent

Kessler Line is moving from separate missions and matches to one persistent open-world war in the Kessler system.

We are changing the shape of the game. Instead of separate co-op missions and frontline matches that reset after every round, Kessler Line becomes one persistent war. Territory, facilities and the front line stay where the fighting left them.

The first theater is the Kessler system: the contested planet Vanta with the Ironveil Basin region, and the orbital hub Aegis Station. Each region runs on its own dedicated server, and control of facilities such as forward operating bases, communications centers and spaceports is stored by the backend.

The Terran Directorate and the Frontier Coalition fight for that territory, while The Rift, a game-controlled biomechanical threat, spreads infestation and attacks weak fronts on its own.

This is a large change and it is still in development. The galactic war map on this website reads the live campaign state from the game backend whenever it is online.
